Andrew Crawford

Director, Certified Financial Planner®

BCom Hons, CFP®

Andrew brings over 30 years of extensive retirement fund consulting experience to Coldstream. A Certified Financial Planner® and a graduate of the University of Witwatersrand with a BCom Honours in Finance and Insurance, his career is marked by significant leadership roles in the financial sector. His distinguished experience includes:

Andrew was involved with the launch of the Alexforbes multi-manager, Investment Solutions, between 1998 to 2003. As Managing Director of the Alexforbes Consultants & Actuaries division, he advocated the adoption of Investment Solutions portfolios for clients to improve and enhance client fund investment strategies.  

Since 2017, in line with Regulation 37, which addresses low-fee portfolios for retirement fund members, Seshego Consulting facilitated several aggregated client solutions with investment product providers for its clients. The Coldstream portfolios were incepted with Old Mutual in July 2017.

Andrew advised on the Coldstream portfolio from 2017 until August 2025, thereby facilitating the portfolios being relevant and appropriate for Seshego clients.

Andrew is a member of the portfolio manager investment committee, responsible for the portfolio construction of the Coldstream portfolios.

Andrew launched the Glenrand MIB multi-manager, Ten50Six, between 2003 and 2005.

Past Director of the Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF), where he was the Business Unity (BUSA) lead on the investment committee.

Thabo Mahloele

Thabo Mahloele is Chairman of the board at Coldstream Investments, bringing more than a decade of rich experience from the investment banking industry. His career in financial markets includes a significant role as Senior Manager in Fixed Income at Standard Bank. Before this, Thabo developed his expertise at Standard Chartered and Nedbank CIB, where he specialized in a variety of financial products, including both vanilla and structured products, to institutional clients.

Thabo’s in-depth knowledge of corporate finance, particularly in debt instruments, makes him an invaluable asset to our team. He holds a Bachelor of Business Science in Finance from the University of Cape Town, which underpins his comprehensive understanding of the financial sector. His insight and experience are crucial to our mission of providing innovative and tailored financial solutions to our clients.

In addition to his role as a director and Chairman of Coldstream Investments, Thabo is an executive at the Lebashe Investment Group, where he is part of a dynamic investment team focusing on financial services and TMT (Technology, Media, and Telecommunications) investments. He also serves as the Managing Director for TV and Entertainment at Arena Holdings, where he is responsible for expanding the group’s entertainment division across multiple platforms.

Scott Harvey

Certified Financial Planner®

Scott is a Certified Financial Planner® with 30 years of experience in investment management, retirement funds, annuities, financial planning, and insurance.  His career has spanned the accumulation stage of the retirement journey through his time at consulting houses Alexforbes and NMG, as well as the decumulation stage through his time at life insurer Just SA, and investment management through his time at STANLIB and Sygnia.

In addition to his Coldstream Investments responsibilities, Scott is also involved with re-pioneering home equity release for South African retirees. Scott is therefore well versed in the investment strategies required to successfully navigate financial planning. When not pondering all things investment and retirement, Scott can be found with his family, walking his dogs, or riding his horse.

Geoff Blount

Certified Financial Planner®

BCom Hons, CFP®

Geoff has over 30 years of experience in investment management. He completed his BCom Hons at Wits, where he was asked to lecture on Corporate Finance. After university, he joined Societe Generale Frankel Pollak (later Sasfin Securities) as an equity dealer, to be promoted to a private-client portfolio manager. After a short stint at BoE Private Bank as a portfolio manager, Geoff then joined the fledgling Alexforbes multi-manager, Investment Solutions, in 1999, where he headed manager research.

Over the next 10 years, while Investment Solutions grew assets under management from R4bn to R180bn, he extensively reviewed all the institutional asset managers in South Africa, along with managers in the UK & the USA. Geoff also co-managed the Investment Solutions multi-manager Performer Fund, which was in excess of R70bn at the time.  

Geoff joined Cannon Asset Managers as CEO in 2008, and from 2018 his focus changed to the launching and listing TIP One, a listed instrument consisting of a portfolio of BBBEE schemes. He joined the private equity firm Invequity in December 2021 as Chief Investment Officer. Geoff currently acts as an independent member of a number of FSP’s investment committees.
